WE did it, yall!

My grandma is CURRENTLY fussing and saying "You aint supposed to be talking!"

Thank you for reminding me granny! LOL Micro laryngoscopy (Microscopic laryngeal surgery) finally happened.

This was probably the ONLY time I have ever been nervous about ANYTHING in all my life. The night before, the bathroom saw me a billion times, I cried a big bucket of tears and I tossed and turned ALL NIGHT LONG!

We (Mama & Grandma) hit the road at about 3am to make the road trip to Charleston, to head to MUSC. Checked in, got weighed, and got undressed. Boy they gave me THEE biggest "draws" (underwear) to put on along with the gown (with the ass out) and the fuzzy socks. Then all the nurses and doctors started making their way in the room to introduce themselves.

For it to be so early, they all had great attitudes! I'm so thankful for that! Dr. Halstead's nurse got me all settled and ready to go, then the anesthesiologist came in and told me the type that I'd be receiving. Being that I have never had any type of surgery before, they kept it simple. Nurse Shnaak did a great job and had the best smile LOL!

After that, in came Cooper who worked in the operating room alongside Dr. Halstead. He was also very informative and explained every line on my paperwork! Thank you, Cooper.

Following Cooper came Nurse Arty

and Lydia, they double & triple check everything that Cooper did and also my vitals and prepared me to go back to the OR.

Once they put that "COCKTAIL" IV, and prepared to wheel me off, I could feel it happening! I don't remember anything but them walking around in the room LOL! I was OUT!

Once I got back into the holding area, the very FIRST thing I did, was ask my mom and grandma "Did y'all call my man?" I only know that because of the video. LOL! Eyes barely opened, but I was checking for my baby OKAY!

They gave me awhile after the procedure, to eat a nasty grape popsicle, and trusted me enough to dress myself. Luckily everything was put on correctly! Mom and grandma went to get the whip, and they wheeled me on to car and we were back on the road, hospital pillow and blanket curled up in the back seat with me!

As nervous as I was, I can truly say that the surgery was not as bad as I thought it would be. Although I'm a little sore on both side of my throat, I can swallow just fine. Currently sipping on some chicken soup MINUS the chicken, Club crackers and water.

Dr. Halstead said that by Thursday, I'll be clear to talk again by Thursday. No driving. No chicken biscuits, no burgers. BRUH!

So many calls, texts, facetimes, social media posts, from so many people that love and support me, and I can't thank you all enough! It means the world to me and just like y'all, I'm praying for a speedy recovery & to hit the stage full force in 2025!

Huge thanks to my Mama, Grandma & the love of my life, for taking good care of me!

Love y'all! See y'all next week!

PS. My grandma has told me "Shut up!" again because I tried to talk to her. LMAO She is making sure to reiterate that the doctor said THURSDAY! Pray for me, She's here 'til Wednesday!
